SPF Sables Iron Maiden aka Sable is a 2016 black filly out of Sonny's Pride ( The Moulden Stallion Sonny x The Good Mare Nancy) and Constellation (The Wooley Mammoth x Tiger Lily) She made the journey here all the way from Idaho! She came around very quickly and realized that people are not so scary! I am happy to report she is also Pssm1 n/n... Sable spent several months with a dear friend and trainer of mine Fern Grenier and he did some beautiful work with her so when she came home she took to saddle work like a champ. She is not a super snuggly mare but is very content just standing next to you. She is happy to observe everything but stays out of the spotlight. She has grown into being a heck of a traditional quality mare even earning the nickname "dump truck" due to just how broad she is. On a tall day she is 14h ..
Sable foaled out a filly May 2022. She returned from lease Sept 2022 in very rough shape and had to be put on a refeeding program.
2023 Sable has regained all of the weight she lost and has been very lightly started back to work. Her feather, mane and tail will all grow back/fill in with time, I am just happy that she is healthy and herself again. I am planning on showing Sable a bit this year and bringing her to the NEGHC show in NY in September. She will be spending 2 months with my trainer friend Ashlee Holt this summer as well.
2023 Sable did AMAZING at the NEGHC Gyspy show in NY in September. I am beyond proud of her and we survived every class and pinned in almost every class including a reserve champion in halter!
