Scooby!

Scooby joined the Shady Pines Crew in 2018 to be Lillie's pony.. (We are working on that as Patriot is still her "pony" but she LOVES her Scooby Too!)  He is a 27ish year old Shetland welsh x gelding (aka ALL pony)  We love him to death and even though he's your typical old, toothless, somewhat cantankerous guy and he'll stay here as part of our family for the rest of his days, years (or in the typical pony case decades..) Lillie is able to ride him leadline at this point but has not ridden him a huge amount as we had some work to do to get him at least a bit up to weight before she can do to much.. he's in the right place as that is 1 of my favorite projects.. elderly equine nutrition and getting them healthy and back to a healthy weight etc.. he is gaining nicely ( about 150 pounds so far with 50-75sih more to go..thankfully he loves his grain, beet pulp and hay cube soup... Thank you Poulin Grain!)  so come spring he'll be up to snuff!

Scooby loves to find every burdock in the state.. thus why he got a haircut.. 1st horse I have ever had that could even get his ears full of them multiple times A DAY!

I guess I love her too.. she always smells like horse cookies!

6/25/19 We said our sad goodbyes to Scooby today.. his age caught up with him so he was no longer comfortable and happy so we laid him to rest.. Thank you for a good year Scooby!
