"Green Mountain Patriot"

Patriot is a black Gypsy stallion and is affectionately known in the barn as "Pooper" and "The Roaming Gnome" among other nicknames! He was born at Horseshoe Ranch in Vt he is out of Connor's Malachi and My Sweet Teagen. Patriot is cross trained in many different events. Everything from dressage, to driving, trail to gymkhana, sidesaddle and mounted shooting as well!. My goal with him is to help preserve this wonderful breed as they should be and to not lose the quality or characteristics that are lost with mass
production breeding..Anyone who believes in such a thing as there being a heart horse will understand when I say he is truly my heart horse! He amazes me every day..His willingness, heart, loyalty, trust, and devotion are nothing like any other horse I have ever had.

2023 - This year was a pretty laid back year for Pooper. We went to a couple gymkhanas and had fun for sure and went to a pleasure show at Serenity Stables in Belmont.

2022 -This year has flown by for sure! Patriot has been competing at the New Boston Gymkhana this year and we are planning on going back to the NEGHC show in NY in October as well. He toted Lillie in the Weare Patriotic Parade again this year.
2021- Pooper had a bit of a busy year! In the spring, he visited St Benedict Academy's Pre-kindergarten class during their Farm week! Of course he loved the extra attention and was very careful around the littles! We competed at the New Boston Gymkhanas where he took great care of his kid in the walk trot division ( sneaking in a few canter strides... He and Lillie took 5th overall for the year! Of course he took care of me as well. ! We took part in the Wentworth Hunt clubs Spring Hunter pace and our team took 17th out of 21, which for his first one and especially on a 90+ degree day I won't complain! The NEGHC show in NY was a great time for sure this is an amazing group of people and we are honored to be part of this group! Pooper and I survived.. It showed just how much more preparation I should have done but he tried whatever I asked and behaved which is truly all I can ask of him. We even threw in something new.. Sidesaddle! We also attended the annual Fall Fuzzies 4H show this year and did a few classes, always a good time! He continues to "Lillie-sit " as well as he can :). There isn't much we haven tried or competed in but we are always trying new things!
2020- We mostly competed up at LRRA in the gymkhanas and trail ride.. was not a very busy pony year..
2019 - Well.. we are trying to get back in shape! So far Patriot has competed in 1 LRRA Gymkhana in the adult division with me adn the leadline division with Lillie. Last weekend we competed at the NEFHC Classic Show in Deerfield and had an amazing weekend! 1st in halter (out of 5), 1st in Open Liberty ( our 1st time and out of 7 entries!) and 1st in WTC Gypsy Horse Pleasure on Friday then Sunday, we took the Championship for WTC Gypsy Horse Pleasure! We snuck in a parade in town on Saturday as well.. it was Patriot's 1st parade with the cart!
2018 - Patriot competed in the Lakes Region Riding Academy Gymkhanas as well as the NEFHC Classic Show and was used for the Make A Wish NH Benefit show that I hosted in June..and giving lots of pony rides to Lillie!

2017 - Patriot competed in many gymkhanas at Lakes Region Riding Academy this season. We attended the NEFHC Classic Show the weekend of June 23rd and had an amazing time.. Placed 5th out of 8 in halter (8 gypsy horses in 1 place up here is a HUGE class!) Then placed 1st in Walk trot canter gypsy pleasure and Champion in the walk trot canter gypsy championship class.. We met some wonderful people and some beautiful horses! Can't wait for next year! Lillie got to ride Patriot in the Weare Patriotic Parade, Her 1st parade and Patriot was a true gentleman taking care of "his" kid.
2016: I'm a Dad!!! Please see Hope's page for more information.. Patriot has been having fun again this season. We have been competing at Lakes Region Riding Academy in the gymkhanas and will be doing a hunter jumper show late summer as well. Dressage shows have taken a bit of a backseat this season as my toddler comes first so have had to pick and choose shows this year :) Patriot has been giving a few lessons to my cousin (beginner 10 year old walk trot) and to my Mom 70+ (Intermediate walk trot) who has been itching to get back in the saddle a bit :) Patriot yet again received the GHRA 2016 Stallion A Ambassador award in Western Pleasure..
2015: Patriot again competed in the Oak Rise farm 2 phase series for a few shows trying his hoof at 1st level! Also he competed for the majority of the season at Lakes Region Riding Academy at the gymkhanas.
2015 awards: Best protector of his human Mom and Lillie this year!

2014:
Patriot took part in several parades this year as well as many shows! We were part of a Cowboy mounted shooting demonstration at the Hopkinton State Fair.. We mainly competed in dressage and gymkhana as it was Skeeter's year to start out in the pleasure shows..

2013
Patriot took home Year end championships and reserve championships this year for both pleasure classes and Dressage! He is also the 2013 Merit award winner for the GHRA in the A division for Dressage, Western Pleasure, English Pleasure and Utility! We competed in all of the above as well as gymkhana and did our first expo shoot at the Hillsborough County Fair for Cowboy Mounted Shooting! Patriot also took part in his first parade along with trying his hoof at team penning which we hope to do more of in the future.. And as always we logged in many trail miles too.
